GameBoy Blaster

Description

This little board is a one-stop-shop for the GameBoy or GameBoy Color handheld consoles. It uses a CPLD to recreate the Nintendo MBC5 mapper chip, which allows 99% compatibility with the entire GB/GBC game library**!

No soldering, no hassle! Simply pop the board into the RetroBlaster Programmer/Dumper with the GB/GBC/GBA adapter and write your game to it, and the RetroBlaster software will do the rest. NOTE: You will need the GameBoy Blaster installed into a GB/GBC cartridge shell in order for it to fit into the RetroBlaster or a GB/GBC console!

The GameBoy Blaster comes with:

• 8MByte ROM space, to hold even the largest GB/GBC games and programs
• 32KByte SRAM or 128KByte SRAM to supports games and programs like LSDJ (Little Sound DJ) that require 128KB of save RAM
• Battery + holder for easy replacement years later

Should work in any compatible console or peripheral, including the Super GameBoy, GameCube GB Player, and the N64 Transfer Pak.

Incompatibility

• Some games (like Super Mario Land 2) may need to be patched first, because they use features specific to other MBC mappers. Patch downloads for some games available here
• Does not support games that require a RTC (real-time clock) and may not work with Pokemon games
